This weeks visit

Went to the doctor again this morning, not much had changed. I am still between 1-2cm dialated, about 60-70% effaced and he is somewhere between -1 and -2 station (see earlier post for explanation of what these mean). I have been starting to get contractions however...they have been sporadic and not too painful (about the level of a serious period cramp) for the past couple days. These early contractions are often called disfuctional labor since they don't come at regular intervals and are not that strong, but they serve a purpose. They are helping my body practice for the real thing (and may turn into the real thing). We will just have to wait and see, right now they are just keeping me from getting a good nights sleep!
